Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

Since 2013, Giant Steps has collaborated with ADM Aéroports de Montréal, Air Transat, and other airport community partners on Premium Kids, the first initiative of its kind introduced at a Canadian airport.

Held annually at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, the event gives autistic children and their families an opportunity to experience the different stages of air travel in a supportive environment. Participants move through the airport journey, including security screening, boarding an aircraft and listening to onboard safety instructions.

By becoming familiar with the airport environment before taking a flight, children can build confidence and reduce anxiety, while families gain a better understanding of what they may need to travel together. Premium Kids demonstrates how collaboration and thoughtful preparation can make travel more accessible and open the door to new family experiences.
